Brinker Publishes, Presents on Tax Info for Families of Those with Special Needs

Accounting professor Thomas M. Brinker Jr., LL.M., CPA/PFS, who serves as executive director of Arcadia’s MBA program and Chair for the American College’s Center for Special Needs Planning, recently has published and presented on tax issues of interest to families caring for individuals with special needs. 
 
Publications:
  • “Tax Leveraged Financing Options for Medical Expenses Incurred by Families Caring for Those with Special Needs,” published in Exceptional Parent in November.
  • “New and Improved Tax Deductions for Parents of Children with Special Needs," by Lelia Wardwell Mander, with Tax Checklist/Commentary provided by Brinker. Published in the The Academy of Special Needs Planners (ASNP) Special Needs Answers newsletter Oct. 20.
  • “Medical Capital Improvements and Their Financing – Often Overlooked Itemized Deductions for Families Caring for Those with Special Needs,” published in New York Life’s The Nautilus Group's Navigator Newsletter in October.
