Tate Dawson made history as she became the first individual student-athlete in Arcadia University history to qualify for an NCAA National Championships. Dawson earned an automatic bid to nationals after finishing ninth overall at Saturday's Metro Regional Championships.
Dawson joined teammates Micah Gordley and Kira Bochard as the first all-region medalists in program history. Gordley placed 26th overall, while Bochard met all-region standards with a 33rd place finish.
In addition to making history as the first all-region medalists in program history, the Arcadia trio each recorded new personal records. Dawson trimmed 26-seconds off her previous program record with a time of 22:40.4, while Gordley improved her time by 29-seconds and Bochard cut over a minute and a half off her previous best.
As a team, the Knights placed 12th overall out of 24 teams for their highest regional finish in program history. Read more here.
