By Dan DiPrinzio | March 2, 2023

On Wednesday, March 29, from 4:30 to 6:15 p.m. in the Commons Great Room, the School of Education presents “Taking a Creative Risk: How Educators Move Forward.” The event will be hosted by 2022’s Pennsylvania Teacher of the Year, Elizabeth Raff, who will share the creative risks she’s taken to further engage students and enhance both the teaching and learning experience. It will consist of an hour-long presentation followed by a Q&A with Raff.

This event is open to any current students, faculty, and staff interested in pursuing teaching at any level. Attendees will be provided with various strategies to implement in the classroom, and a newfound excitement for teaching, learning, and the power of education.

Raff has been a sixth grade teacher in the Penn Manor School District for nearly nine years, promoting a classroom with engaging student driven culture and out-of-the-box thinking. In 2022, Raff was named Teacher of the Year in Pennsylvania, wherein she travels to collaborate with other educators while sharing her unique teaching styles. She received a Master of Education in Curriculum and Instruction from Penn State University in 2016.
