Arcadia’s International Student Enrollment Continues to Climb

Over the past five years, the international student body at Arcadia University, a global leader in international education, has more than doubled.

A total of 81 international students are enrolled at Arcadia in 2014-15, compared with 40 students in the 2009-10 academic year. The largest groups of international students at Arcadia hail from China (36) and South Korea (12), with other primary countries including Saudi Arabia, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, and India. Asian students made up 50 percent of the international student body in 2010, and 67 percent in 2014.

Actuarial science, business, computer science, and mathematics are among the more popular majors selected by international students.

This fall, Arcadia’s Glenside campus welcomed its first cohort of 3+1 students from its partner Jiangsu University. The students are completing their degrees in mathematics or actuarial science. Arcadia faculty in computer science, mathematics, and English have taught at Jiangsu University since 2012. The largest contingent of Chinese students represent Canvard College in Beijing, a private university that specializes in business studies.

Arcadia University’s Office of International Affairs coordinates continuous support programs year round, beginning with pre-arrival communications, visa application support, and orientation. Arcadia’s international students benefit from the personal attention provided by faculty, staff, and advisers across the campus community.
