Danielle Littrell, PA-S, accepted Jennersville Regional Hospital’s Greg DeSimone Memorial Scholarship on Friday, May 8, in a presentation at the West Grove, Pa., hospital. The $3,500 scholarship is awarded to a physician assistant student who has demonstrated academic excellence and commitment to the medical sciences.

“What we liked most about her was her commitment to helping the underserved through her many volunteer activities,” said Dianne Ryan RN, BSN, CEN, director of Emergency Services at Jennersville Hospital. “She demonstrated the ability to carry on the legacy of Dr. DeSimone through medicine in the same caring and compassionate way.”

Littrell completed her bachelor’s degree in biochemistry and medical humanities at Elmhurst College near Chicago, Ill., before entering Arcadia’s Master of Medical Science (Physician Assistant) and Master of Public Health dual degree program. Now preparing for a year of clinical rotation, the award will cover the cost of Littrell’s textbooks and supplies and will help fund her study abroad rotation in Thailand or a country in Central America.
