About Me

Eleonora Bartoli, Ph.D., is the Director of the graduate program in Counseling and the Coordinator of the Trauma concentration. After earning her doctoral degree, she acquired clinical experience by working for three years at the University of Pennsylvania Counseling and Psychological Services (Penn’s counseling center, first as an intern and subsequently as a post-doctoral fellow). After receiving her license as a psychologist in early 2005, she opened a small independent practice, which she has held since. Prior to becoming the Director for Arcadia's Counseling program, she worked for three years as an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Gwynedd-Mercy College (GMC), where she was also the coordinator of the Women’s Studies Minor, the advisor for the Psychology Club, and the founder of GMC’s Psi Chi chapter. At GMC, she taught a number of social justice based courses as well as general psychology, counseling, and psychobiology courses.

Dr. Bartoli is very active in professional organizations; she is currently on the Board of our own accrediting body, the Masters in Psychology and Counseling Accreditation Council (MPCAC) as past-Chair. Over the years, Dr. Bartoli has been involved in a number of leadership positions both within the Pennsylvania Psychological Association (where she was the Chair of the Committee on Multiculturalism) and the Pennsylvania Counseling Association (where she is a member of the Legislative Committee as well as the Pennsylvania Association for Counselor Education and Supervision). Her professional interests include multicultural counseling competence, White racial socialization, trauma, and mindfulness. She was the recipient of the 2013 Lindback Foundation Award for Distinguished Teaching.
