Eric Smith grew up in Elizabeth, New Jersey before moving to Philadelphia. He holds a BA in English from Kean University and an MA in English from Arcadia.
By day, he can be found working as a Literary Agent for P.S. Literary, where he's worked on New York Times bestselling and award-winning books. When he isn’t seeking out new voices and their writing, he fusses over his own.
His latest novel, Don't Read the Comments, will be published by Inkyard Press in January 2020, and his next anthology, Battle of the Bands co-edited with acclaimed author Lauren Gibaldi, will be published with Candlewick Press in 2021.
His other writing includes The Geek’s Guide to Dating (Quirk Books), Inked (Bloomsbury), Branded (Bloomsbury), Welcome Home (Flux), and The Girl and the Grove (Flux). He has stories forthcoming in the anthologies Color Outside the Lines by Sangu Mandanna (Soho) and Body Talk by Kelly Jensen (Algonquin)
His writing has appeared on BuzzFeed, The Huffington Post, and Boing Boing, and he's a regular contributor to BookRiot, where he co-hosts the HEY YA podcast with Kelly Jensen. His essays have appeared in Apiary, The Bygone Bureau, and in The Head & the Hand Press’ Asteroid Belt Almanac.
