About Me

Dr. Nicole Young joined the Arcadia University staff in October 2017. Prior to that, she worked at La Salle University's Student Counseling Center, and before that she worked as a psychologist commissioned into the US Air Force. As an Air Force Captain, she was in charge of the Alcohol and Other Drug program for Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst in NJ. She received a Commendation Medal for Meritorious Service for her work during this time. Dr. Young specializes in veterans' concerns, military families' concerns, drug and alcohol related concerns, trauma, anxiety, depression, academic stress, and relationship problems. She utilizes cognitive-behavioral therapy and acceptance and commitment therapy techniques. She believes that therapy can be difficult, but it can also be fun, and she tries to bring warmth and humor into her sessions whenever possible.
