Employment Separation

Employment at Arcadia University may be terminated for any reason by the University or the employee. Salary to the date of termination of employment plus payment for any earned unused vacation days, after six months or more of continuous employment, will be received in the final paycheck.  

Before leaving employment at the University, you will be invited for an exit interview with Human Resources.  At this time you will be expected to return your I.D. card, parking permit, keys, uniforms and any other Arcadia University property in your possession.  All borrowed library materials must be returned and any other outstanding obligations must also be satisfied before your final paycheck will be released.    

All benefits will cease on the last day of the month in which employment ends.  Qualified employees and dependents are eligible to continue group medical and dental coverage for up to 18 months under COBRA rates. Under the portability feature of our life insurance policy, you can continue life insurance coverage for yourself, your spouse, and your dependent children if you leave employment, retire, or reduce your work hours to part-time. COBRA application and information on continuing your life insurance is sent to employees by the Office of Human Resources upon notice of separation or, if applicable, reduction in work hours.
