Faculty Advancement

The Office of the Provost at Arcadia University supports faculty and their teaching and research endeavors in a variety of ways.

Events and Activities

Faculty-to-Faculty (F2F) Lunch Discussions

Informal discussions of a teaching and pedagogy held monthly in the Faculty/Staff Dining Room. Lunch is provided free of charge.

Faculty Forum

Faculty research from across the University is discussed at the Faculty Forum, a collaborative effort with the Faculty Senate’s Work & Welfare Committee. These forums meet weekly for several consecutive weeks each semester and feature brief faculty presentations followed by robust discussion. Lunch is provided at these sessions, as well.

ATS Workshops

Academic Technology Services offers a series of online and face-to-face workshops for faculty and staff members during the semester.

May Workshops on Teaching, Research, and Assessment

Each May, several units on campus come together to sponsor this annual event.

Workshops and Social Activities

The Office also supports efforts to design workshops and develop social activities geared toward the particularly needs of junior faculty.

New Faculty Orientation

Each August, on the day before classes begin, a New Faculty Orientation is held for new full-time faculty.

Funding is available to support:

  • Attendance by faculty at conferences focused on teaching, pedagogy and student learning assessment.
  • Initiatives aimed at improving any aspect of teaching, advising, scholarship or other faculty activities.
