Judith Taylor Gallery
This student-led exhibition delves into the funerary and domestic pottery of the Bura, Chamba, Dakakari, and Nupe cultures in West Africa. Most likely handcrafted and fired by women, these ceramic objects offer a glimpse into their function and context in West African societies. In presenting this exhibition, we hope to spark further conversation about the ethics of collecting and preserving the cultural heritage of marginalized groups. The exhibition is taking place in the Judith Taylor Gallery, located in the basement of Landman Library.
