Commemorative Plantings
Framed with tree-lined walkways and a palette of blooming plants, Arcadia University's 55 rolling acres have long provided a haven for harried students and nostalgic alumni. William Welsh Harrison, the builder of Grey Towers Castle, planted some of its trees over 100 years ago. As the University continues to grow, we need to ensure that this natural sanctuary remains accessible to future generations.
In order to replace trees lost or damaged by recent storms and construction, the University is planting additional clusters of trees and formal gardens. With these plantings, the University is extending the opportunity to commemorate significant life events to alumni, parents and friends of the University. By dedicating a tree or a garden, you may remember important landmarks such as the birth of a child, a wedding, an anniversary or the passing of a loved one. As they grow, these trees and gardens will serve as beautiful beacons for future generations of the Arcadia University family.
