Arcadia University Faculty and Staff Celebrate One Another at 2025 Years of Service and Recognition Awards Luncheon

Faculty and staff of Arcadia University came together to celebrate the 2025 Years of Service and Recognition Awards Luncheon on May 21 in the Commons Great Room. The event honored those reaching career milestones, several retirees, and others for their accomplishments over the past year.

Faculty Awards:

Dr. Thomas P. Dougherty Endowed Faculty-Student Research Award
This award is to be used for “assisting in the education of capable young men and women and the development of [the research potential of] junior faculty members in the sciences.”
Winner: Sudha Moothy, Biology

Frank and Evelyn Steinbrucker ’42 Endowed Chair
A two-year appointment given to a distinguished member of the faculty.
Winner: Peter Appelbaum, Education

Ellington Beavers Faculty Award For Intellectual Inquiry
Supports the education of Arcadia students, both directly through assistance to student scholars, and indirectly through assistance to the faculty who teach and guide them.
Winner: Fabio OIdoni, Forensic Science

Marie-Louise and Eugene Jackson International Fund for Student and Faculty Development
This faculty development award enhances the intellectual diversity of the University by facilitating scholarly exchange between Arcadia faculty and other international institutions.
Winner: Jennifer Riggan, Historical and Political Studies

Martha Washington Award for Distinguished Service
Presented annually to a staff member who exemplifies consistent excellence and exceptional service.

Cultural Co-Conspirator Award
Presented to an individual supporting and advocating for a welcoming and inclusive environment.

Wes Rose Access and Inclusion Award
Given to staff or faculty who go above and beyond in facilitating an inclusive and accessible campus.

John Hagerty Dependability Award
An award presented to a staff member who exemplifies the dedication, work ethic, and kindness that John demonstrated.

Sharon Anthony Dedication Award
Given to a staff member who encompasses multiple traits that Sharon had: diligence, dependability, dedication, eagerness to help, and exceptional job performance.
