Anthony Barber ’29 with a javelin.

Hometown: Burlington Township, N.J.

Major: Criminal Justice

What extracurriculars are you involved in?

Arcadia’s men’s track and field team — my main event is javelin.

What are some of your hobbies?

Spending time with family and friends, going to the gym, or grabbing a Quarter Pounder with cheese from McDonald’s!

What is your proudest accomplishment to date?

In July 2024, I competed in the Amateur Athletic Union National Track and Field Championship in Jacksonville, Florida. Despite a flight delay of over 12 hours and arriving at our hotel at 3 a.m., my teammates and I competed on just a couple of hours of sleep, fueled by adrenaline and Red Bull. I ended up performing better than I expected, earning All-American honors and taking home a bronze medal for 6th place. The medal was an amazing accomplishment that I’ll always remember—but honestly, the sleep and cold shower afterward might have been just as good!

Why did you choose Arcadia?

Arcadia had been at the top of my list throughout high school, but after an official overnight campus stay, I knew it was the place for me. The campus was even more beautiful in person, and everyone I met welcomed me like family. Arcadia also offers incredible opportunities—from studying abroad to career preparation and student engagement—making it the perfect fit for my next four years.

What are you most looking forward to?

Bonding with my classmates and teammates, while also diving deeper into the Criminal Justice system.
