Glenside and Beyond
Fall is definitely one of the best seasons of the year. Leaves begin to change color, the air begins to cool, the breeze takes on that perfect, gentle vibe, and for a moment, everything feels calm and almost magical. It’s the season when the good stuff starts rolling in—apple cider, fresh cider donuts, sweet potato pie, caramel apples… need I say more? It’s a season of the sweet little joys of life, but more than anything, fall brings a feeling like everything’s slowing down, just enough to savor it all.
The fall is also a season when we juggle the responsibilities of college, work, and other assignments, while making sure that we maintain a fruitful work-life balance. Doing this while in school is not always the easiest of tasks, and there is no “correct” way to execute this either. With this in mind, having harmony in your life not only improves your mental and physical health, but it also gives you a sense of authority and competence, leading to higher levels of confidence and motivation to achieve both academic and personal goals.
In the article “Creating a Work-Life Balance While Attending School,” American National University states, “As you strive for work-life-academic balance, remember that it’s not about achieving perfection but about making conscious choices that align with your values and priorities. It’s about recognizing that your well-being is interconnected with how you balance your responsibilities, passions, and self-care. Embracing balance allows you to lead a more fulfilling life, pursue goals with purpose, and cherish the moments that truly matter.”
To make the most of this cozy season, I’ve given myself a challenge: plan at least one fun activity every weekend. With that in mind, I’ve put together the ultimate college-friendly fall bucket list, packed with cozy vibes, fall treats, and budget-friendly adventures.
