Dr. Oldoni Attends Italian Speaking Working Group Conference at International Society for Forensic Genetics

Arcadia’s Master of Science in Forensic Science (MSFS) Program Director Dr. Fabio Oldoni attended the Italian Speaking Working Group Conference from the International Society for Forensic Genetics. The conference was held in Rome from October 16-18.
The focus of the conference was “New Directions in Forensic Genetics,” and it featured various sessions and renowned national and international speakers and officials from the Police and Carabinieri. Topics presented included advances in genetic typing, AI applications in forensic genetics, DVI and challenging samples, and databases and genealogy beyond personal identification.
Dr. Oldoni served as a member of the scientific committee for the conference and co-moderated a session on evaluating activity level for forensic biology findings.
Master’s program thesis work by MSFS alumna McKenna Bonn-Savage ’24, titled “Investigating trace DNA dynamics in mock physical aggression scenarios,” received the Best Poster Presentation award.
