Larisa Shambaugh, a seasoned human resources strategist, serves as Vice President of Human Resources and Employee Experience.
At Arcadia, Larisa oversees all facets of the university’s human resources enterprise, including employee relations, benefits, compensation, payroll, compliance, wellness, recognition, talent management, and professional development. Her experience balances strategic initiatives with hands-on execution, enhancing employee satisfaction, retention, and institutional effectiveness.

– Bachelor’s degree from Tufts University
– Master of Public Policy from the University of Michigan, Gerald R. Ford School of Public Policy;
– Master of Educational Leadership at the Broad Residency in Urban Education.Larisa, who grew up in Wyncote and graduated from Cheltenham High School, is excited to return to the area where her educational journey began.
Professional Experience
Larisa brings cultural leadership, emotional intelligence, strong technical HR capability, and a solutions-oriented approach to Arcadia. Prior to her role in Philadelphia, she held executive positions with Newark Public Schools and research roles at the American Institutes for Research and the University of Michigan.
