Mostecki ’28 Begins Second Stint as Student Government Organization President With Grandberry ’27, Wyche ’28 by His Side

Arcadia University’s Student Government Organization held a ceremony in the Castle Mirror Room on April 28 to introduce the Executive Board for the 2026-27 academic year. Carter Mostecki ’28 will serve a second term as president, while Jamerika Grandberry ’27 will serve as vice president, and Hope Wyche ’28 as treasurer.
“To the student body, thank you for your confidence in me,” Mostecki said. “Your voices, your ideas, and your willingness to engage are what make this organization matter. Every vote cast represents the continued belief in student leadership and provides the backbone for us to continue to support our fellow students.
“As I continue in this role, I commit to being accessible, accountable, and intentional in my actions. I commit to listening, not just to respond, but to understand. I commit to working alongside you all for the betterment of both this University and our student body.”
Grandberry also addressed the students, faculty, staff, and family and friends gathered in the room.
“One of the main reasons I chose Arcadia is because I saw how powerful the clubs on campus are,” she said. “I saw via Instagram how niche they could be, and I really imagined how I could be part of those clubs. Going into my senior year and becoming vice president of SGO is a full-circle moment for me because now I have the opportunity to ensure that clubs have the resources to succeed and the recognition they deserve. I really can’t wait to see what the future holds.”
Mostecki announced the SGO Affinity Grant, a new initiative in partnership with Assistant Vice President for the Student Experience and Executive Advisor to SGO Christine Storch. The grant will give student organizations the opportunity to apply for additional funding to support programs that build connection, strengthen community, and enhance the overall student experience.
“It’s about placing resources directly into the hands of students to help shape a campus where everyone can truly thrive,” Mostecki said. “Because when students feel a sense of belonging, everything else–leadership, learning, and growth–follows.
Outgoing officers Nelly Tyncherova ’26 and Jacob Mann ’26 were in attendance as they handed the reins to Grandberry and Wyche. Storch sang the praises of Tyncherova and Mann.
“Nelly and Jacob, it feels like yesterday that we started this journey,” Storch said. “In certain moments, leadership can feel uncomfortable, heavy, and even lonely. When those moments came, you did not pull back, you leaned in. You listened when it was hard. You were willing to sit with someone else’s experience and not rush to try to fix it. You showed up in ways that made the student experience tangibly better.”
The Honorable Christopher J. Cerski, an adjunct professor of Law and Government at Arcadia, swore the new officers in. Dr. Donavan McCargo, vice president of campus life and dean of students, provided closing remarks, after admitting he was at a loss for words having to follow Mostecki and Grandberry’s speeches.
“I’m just so proud of everyone in this room, and I’m so thankful to be here as well,” he said after finding the words. “Three years ago, this was a shaky organization on a shaky foundation, and now it’s being built stone by stone into a wonderful organization.”
