Evan J. Smith ’11 was presented with the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants Award at Arcadia University’s 2011 Honors Convocation. The award is given to the senior selected by the faculty on the basis of intellectual capacity and qualities of leadership.

“Faculty describe Evan as a truly remarkable student with high expectations of himself who motivates those he works with,” said Assistant Professor Mark Wade. “He possesses exceptional individual and intellectual strengths making it possible for him to succeed in any number of career paths, especially accounting. He understands the foundational rules of business and accounting, and is an incredibly talented problem solver. He also possesses the insight to read between the lines—a rare gift.”

In 2010, Smith was awarded the President’s Prize, which goes to the junior with the highest cumulative average for five semesters of study at Arcadia University.
