This year at the annual Dr. Seuss Day Celebration hosted a cake-baking competition. The Arcadia community made and donated seven handcrafted cakes for the visiting children to vote on. Students, faculty and staff donated Seussian-themed cakes. The winning cake was made by Alyssa McDermott ’10 and Justin Vergara ’12 and was an ensemble of multiple Dr. Seuss books. Maria Stelacio won second place with a cake themed around various Dr. Seuss books as well. The first and second place winners will be awarded gift certificates from Barnes and Noble in honor of Dr. Seuss’ crusade to encourage reading. (Photos)
