Schall Publishes Poetry in ‘Streetnotes’

By Purnell T. Cropper | June 24, 2014

Director of the Writing Center Daniel Schall published “Philadelphiamble,” a photo-essay-style set of four poems, in Streetnotes, a peer-reviewed ethnography and poetry journal based at the University of California (Davis).

The pieces Schall submitted to Streetnotes comprised roughly a third of his 2010 Master’s Thesis from the Master of Arts in English program at Arcadia University. Throughout the writing process, he drew inspiration from Baudelaire’s flâneur style, describing his walks throughout the city of Philadelphia to illustrate both its beauty and problems.
