Dr. Sheryl van Horne, assistant professor in the Department of Sociology, Anthropology and Criminal Justice, presented two papers at the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences (ACJS) in Philadelphia: “Transporting the Criminal Justice Field to the Classroom: Utilizing Narratives in Introductory Criminal Justice Courses” and “Teaching Through Novels and Music in the Criminal Justice Classroom” in February. In addition to these presentations, Van Home was elected to be one of the seven steering committee members of a newly-proposed section of ACJS—Teaching, Learning and Scholarship—and invited to be the keynote speaker for the new section as well.
