Working under the supervision of a physician, Arcadia students in the Doctor of Physical Therapy program presented on the physical therapy field, took blood pressures, and led exercises at the Korean Health Expo on Saturday, June 13, in the Commons. More than 100 local Korean-American community members attended the expo, which students said was a “unique experience and valuable opportunity” to educate the public on what physical therapists can do.
Kelley Borgard ’16DPT, Janet Hertz ’16DPT, Charles Kim ’16DPT, Diane Kim ’16DPT, Diane Weeks ’16DPT, and Junsik Yoon ’16DPT distributed English and Korean information pamphlets and presented the audience with information on the physical therapy field as well as Arcadia’s DPT program, which is ranked 14th in the nation. Attendees who required in-depth physical therapy screenings were given additional guidance and directed to providers.
The expo was sponsored by Einstein Healthcare Network and Arcadia University.
