Call for 2016 Research Support Fellowship

By Susan Gettlin | November 4, 2015

November 18 Deadline

In an effort to encourage faculty to seek external funding for research projects, Office of Sponsored Research and Programs (OSRP) announces the availability of 2016 Research Support Fellowship funds for two full time faculty members to attend the Council on Undergraduate Research (CUR) Dialogues in February 2016.

The goal of the fellowship is to help AU faculty to obtain important skills, knowledge and training to be able to develop a successful proposal for external funding. This professional development opportunity for AU Faculty will cover conference registration, hotel, and travel costs.

The 2016 CUR Dialogues will be held in Washington, DC on Feb. 18-21, 2016. The event will offer workshops and plenary sessions which provide information about grant opportunities in research and education relevant to undergraduate research. The sessions will equip participants with grant writing skills; provide opportunities to meet with representatives from funding agencies, and network withresearchers from other institutions.

Full time faculty members who have not been the primary writers of a funded grant proposal are eligible to apply for this opportunity. Preference will be given to junior faculty and/or new investigators. The recipients of this fellowship are expected to submit a project proposal to a Funding Agency within one calendar year of the CUR’s event.

Applications are due by 5 p.m., Wednesday, Nov. 18. The decision of the review committee will be announced in the middle of December 2015. Questions should be directed to Charu Varma (267-620-8261, varmac@arcadia.edu).
