International Education Week to Celebrate Scholastic Achievement, Cultures, and Global Knowledge
The Office of International Affairs will host several events Nov. 14-18 for International Education Week, a collaborative effort between the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education to promote international education and cultural exchange worldwide and encourage students to be more prepared for a global environment.
Tuesday, Nov. 15
Phi Beta Delta Induction Ceremony: Grey Towers Castle, 5:30 p.m.
Phi Beta Delta recognizes scholarly achievement in international education. Arcadia students must have a 3.2 GPA and have studied abroad for at least 6 weeks in an academic program while at Arcadia to be eligible.
Wednesday, Nov. 16
Modern Language Scavenger Hunt: Easton Hall, 3 p.m.
Teams of language learning students will scour campus for places, people, and objects in their target language.
Celebrating Cultures: Commons Great Room, 6 p.m.
Enjoy food and performances as you explore the many cultures of Arcadia’s students, faculty, and staff. Those interested in sharing their culture should contact OIA at oia@arcadia.edu.
Thursday, Nov. 17
Cultural Voice Open Mic Night: Black Box Theater (Dining Complex), 7 p.m.
Students, faculty, and staff are invited to present and celebrate stories, poetry, and songs of various cultures. To participate, contact OIA at oia@arcadia.edu.
Friday, Nov. 18
International Quiz Bowl, Grey Towers Castle, 3 p.m.
Gather a team of 4 to 6 players and enjoy quizzo with an international flair. No pre-registration necessary. Prizes will be awarded to the winning team.
