Dr. Rosen Receives Early Career Scholar Award

Dr. Sonia M. Rosen, assistant professor of Education, was awarded the Early Career Scholar Award from the Grassroots Community and Youth Organizing Special Interest Group of the American Educational Research Association (AERA). Dr. Rosen accepted her award at the AERA Annual Meeting on April 14 in New York City.

The Early Career Scholar Award recognizes a pre-tenure scholar, within seven years of receipt of a doctoral degree, whose career shows heavy involvement with grassroots community or youth organizing for educational change. Dr. Rosen was celebrated for her community leadership, support of youth organizations in Philadelphia, and publications, including her co-edited, 20-chapter volume Contemporary Youth Activism: Advancing Social Justice in the United States.
