Carole Loeffler, associate professor and chair of Visual and Performing Arts, was selected as a finalist in the Bombay Sapphire Artisan Series, which displayed her “it’s fine, I’m fine” artwork from Aug. 31 to Sept. 14 at Arch Enemy Arts in Philadelphia.

Public voting for the final art pieces is open through Oct. 26. “it’s fine, I’m fine” is a sculptural exhibition in reaction to the post-election, toxic political environment that is enveloping the United States and the world. Loeffler noted the work is “an attempt for me to personally process what it means to be a woman, be married to a family of immigrants and trying to raise kind, thoughtful children in a world that feels upside down and inside out.”

The Bombay Sapphire Artisan Series is an annual collaboration between Bombay Sapphire spirits and Artsy, an online art publication and marketplace. In its ninth year, the competition brings artists from around the country together for placement in some of the most esteemed galleries and exhibitions in the U.S. and Canada.

In addition to the artisan series, Loeffler’s work has been or will be displayed at several other exhibitions this fall:

Ethereal/Material, an exhibition coinciding with the 28th International Sculpture Conference, will be on display at the Art Gallery in Philadelphia’s City Hall from Oct. 15 to Jan. 4, with a reception on Oct. 25 from 5 to 7 p.m.

Philadelphia Sculptors Presents, an exhibition coinciding with the 28th International Sculpture Conference, will be on display from Oct. 8 to Dec. 7 at the Art Gallery in Philadelphia’s City Hall, with a reception on Oct. 25 from 5 to 7 p.m.

Make What You Need, a solo exhibition of ten, new text-based fabric works in the Rosedale Gallery, located on the ground floor of the University Commons, is on display until Feb. 10. Loeffler’s lecture about this exhibition will take place in the Great Room on Oct. 1 at 4:30 p.m.

Shelter, a collaborative exhibition of sculptors based around the interpretation of this theme, is taking place at the Da Vinci Art Alliance in Philadelphia through Sept. 26.

Pink, a collaborative exhibition that aims to address the implications and form of the color, will be displayed in the Fine Arts Center Gallery at Arkansas State University through Oct. 10. In conjunction with this exhibition, participants will hold a PechaKucha presentation during the reception on Oct. 10 at 3 p.m.

Seeing Red, an exhibition that examines the different connotations of the color through art, culture, politics, and religion, will be on display through Oct. 20 at Seton Hall University in Newark, N.J. There will also be a guided tour with the curators on the last day of the exhibition at 1 p.m.

Extreme Fiber Art, an exhibition exploring different interpretations of fiber art, is on display through Oct. 12 at IdeaXFactory in Springfield, Mo.

Achromatic, an exhibition taking place at the Crawford Gallery in Philadelphia, PA, from Oct. 1 to Dec. 12.
