The Department of Computer Science and Math held their annual departmental picnic on Oct. 6. At the picnic, students and faculty of the department enjoyed games of volleyball, cornhole, trivia, and grilled food. International faculty from Jiangsu University, located in Zhenjiang, China, also attended the picnic to celebrate the beginning of a new academic year.

“It was a very good opportunity to meet professors outside of the classroom,” said Chenrui “Steven” Xu ’19. “Instead of talking about academic things, we were able to speak more casually.”

The international mathematics program is a collaboration between Arcadia and Jiangsu University. Established in 2011, the program allows students who complete three years at Jiangsu and one year at Arcadia to earn a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from both institutions.
