Ryan Featured in Group and Solo Exhibitions Around the World

Associate Professor of Visual and Performing Arts Abbey Ryan ’03 is making headlines around the world with a variety of art exhibitions.

Ryan’s work was on display at Trompe l’oeil Meets Photorealism, at the John F. Peto Museum through Dec. 15, and her last solo exhibition this past spring at the F. Donald Kenney Museum at St. Bonaventure University just finished. 

In 2019, her work was displayed in group exhibitions at the National Oil & Acrylic Painters’ Society Spring International Exhibition; Morven Museum’s Masters of Illusion international invitational exhibition; and Your Plus-One, Mount Airy Contemporary, Philadelphia. In 2020, Ryan will have solo exhibitions at the Galleria Mentana in Florence, Italy, and Jimmy’s Balcony Gallery, Chora, Patmos, Greece. In 2021, she has an exhibition planned at the Center for the Visual Arts, at the University of Toledo. Her work will be featured in group exhibitions including the International Invitational Exhibition of Contemporary Trompe l’oeil, on display at the John F. Peto Museum in 2020; in Galleria Mentana, Florence, Italy in 2019; and Mason Fine Art, Atlanta, Ga., in 2019.  

Ryan also is working on a paper in collaboration with Paul Spaeth, curator of the Robert Lax Archives, titled “Presentational Painting and the Poetry of Robert Lax.”
