Arcadia Athletics’ Statement on Coronavirus Outbreak

By Laura A. Baldwin | March 15, 2020
The Arcadia University Department of Athletics & Recreation has issued the following statement regarding the outbreak of the coronavirus, or COVID-19:

Arcadia Athletics is aware of the severity of the coronavirus and working directly with school officials to monitor conditions. While there have been no confirmed cases reported to Student Health Services, Arcadia University is taking precautions to ensure the health and well-being of the campus community.

The National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and Middle Atlantic Conference (MAC) has not requested that we cancel or postpone any of our varsity athletic contests and, as a result, we currently have no plans to do so for any contests on or off-campus, including Spring Break travel for spring sports. We are also not restricting spectators at our home athletics contests at this time.

This is a situation that will likely continue to evolve based on information provided by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the NCAA, and the Pennsylvania Department of Health. We thank everyone for their patience, cooperation, and understanding, and we will provide updates as they become available.

Learn about the coronavirus by keeping up with the information from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and Arcadia’s COVID-19.
