Indoor Masking Requirement for Arcadia Facilities

By Caitlin T. Burns | July 30, 2021
As the University continues to follow the latest information about the increased spread of the more transmissible COVID-19 Delta variant, we are reaching out to let you know that,

effective Sunday, August 1, masks will be required in all indoor University-operated spaces in Glenside and Christiana, DE, regardless of vaccination status.

We strongly recommend that unvaccinated individuals wear masks outdoors as well.

While the transmission rates in our region and on-campus remain relatively low, reported cases are increasing. Vaccination rates in our area continue to rise, but there remains a critical mass of unprotected individuals. Indoor masking provides a vitally important and timely means of mitigation for all.

Arcadia will require the vaccine once approved by the FDA, and we expect that all eligible community members will get vaccinated as soon as possible. Students should upload their COVID vaccine record to Arcadia’s Patient Portal (instructions on uploading are here) no later than August 6. For those who remain uncertain about the safety and necessity of the COVID vaccine or who would like information about where they can get the vaccine, contact COVIDCareTeam@arcadia.edu.

Employees who are fully vaccinated should upload their vaccine records to the iSolved platform (instructions to upload). Employees with questions should contact humanresources@arcadia.edu.

Important reminder: We require anyone who does not have proof of vaccination on file to participate in regular COVID testing this fall.

  • Residential students who have not uploaded vaccine information by August 6 will be tested for COVID upon entrance to campus on move-in day.
  • All community members (employees and students) without uploaded information will begin surveillance testing on August 23.
  • Anyone who does not have a vaccination record on file will receive information on scheduling their appointment.

Testing will provide Arcadia with crucial data about the presence and transmission level of the virus in our community and inform our health and safety measures going forward. There will be no exceptions.

We remain committed to sustaining a culture of dignity, personal responsibility, and shared safety. We greatly appreciate the efforts of so many in our community as we work TOGETHER to persevere and thrive.

Sincerely,
COVID Care Team
