All prospective students complete a standard admissions application. There is no separate application process for students with disabilities, and students have no obligation to reveal a disability during the admissions process. If students feel that their academic record needs further explanation, this can be written in their personal essay or in an interview with Enrollment Management. Also, at any time during the admissions process, students may also choose to meet with DSS staff to discuss available services.
As soon as students decide to apply to Arcadia University, they may contact DSS staff for an appointment. This meeting will include an introduction to the support services that Arcadia provides as well as an explanation of the necessary requirements for appropriate documentation of a disability. Students are not obligated to reveal their disability to the Office of Enrollment Management. DSS is not involved in admissions decisions and will keep all communication confidential. All students with disabilities who will require any type of accommodation should identify themselves and submit documentation of their disability to DSS once they have been accepted and committed to attending Arcadia University.
Accommodations for Placement Inventories
Accommodations are available for placement inventories taken for English, modern languages, chemistry and math, only if students make the request in advance. They should call Disability Support Services Staff as soon as their Summer Orientation Day is chosen. Please give notice as early as possible to arrange accommodations.
