I chose a law class elective during my senior year based on a professor’s advice. I thought it was just a means to collect needed credits. It turned out to be the path I didn’t know I missed. The law professor assisted me in entering a paralegal program, which eventually led to law school. I entered Arcadia with an eye on physical therapy, and due to the amazing opportunities offered, I found my path in a career I never considered.
Being able to have a work-life balance. I cherish that I have the flexibility of attending my children’s school field trips while also being able to run my own business. It is hard to be a mother and a wife and have a career all at the same time. You are pulled in a lot of directions. You can’t do it all, but there are ways to be very close. I don’t want to look back years later and think that I missed out on anything because work was more important. Work is always going to be there, but your children are only young once.
Hopefully, I will be looking back with no regrets, enjoying life with two awesome children and a great husband, and cherishing the experiences we had along the way.
