Alan Powell, Media and Communications professor, helped reframe how I looked upon the world, both as an artist and as a working professional. He has continued to do so even after I graduated, with a keen eye on personal development as well as a deeper contextual understanding of people and the communities in which we engage.
The educators at Arcadia University cared about me, and that has informed me of how I want to teach and coach in my domains as well.
Arcadia’s focus on an all-encompassing humanities curriculum with a strong foundation in its pluralism and sociology classes was essential to providing a wide breadth and depth of understanding in any environment and endeavor. Of course, the people I met and the friendships I built during my time at Arcadia have stayed with me through all of these years. That, to me, is immeasurable.
It’s hard to pick a singular cherished memory. My time at Arcadia was formative to who I am today. If I had to pick a focused memory, I’d say it’s Arcadia University’s study abroad opportunities and its focus on global awareness. The friends I made while studying overseas became my family. They are still so crucial to who I am today. I don’t have words to adequately describe how much they mean to me.
