Modern Knights: Medievalism in Children's Literature during the Great War Curated by Gabriella Rymshaw , Class of 2019, this exhibition explores the medieval imagery often found in children's literature that was popular in the years leading up to the outbreak of the Great War (1914-1918). Such imagery promoted a sense of patriotism and duty that had an influence on the consumers of these books: boys and young men who eventually became the soldiers in the conflict that shaped course of modern history. Spencer Finch: As Lightning on a Landscape

Arcadia Exhibitions is pleased to present "Spencer Finch: As Lightning on a Landscape" in the Spruance Gallery from May 29, through December 15, 2019. Planned to coincide with this New York-based artist's RiverLink ferry project for "Whitman at 200: Art and Democracy" , this compact survey will provide a context for Finch's ongoing exploration of perception and transient natural phenomena.
