A Toolkit for Civil Resistance: One-Day Teach-In at Arcadia University
Join the International Peace and Conflict Resolution (IPCR) Program at Arcadia University (Glenside, PA), in partnership with The Peace Center (Langhorne, PA), for a hands-on, one-day teach-in on practical tools for civil resistance on Friday, March 13, 2026.
This interactive event, “A Toolkit for Civil Resistance,” will feature:
- Two, two-hour training sessions led by experienced facilitators
- A roundtable discussion with local activists from the greater Philadelphia area
Participants will gain practical strategies to:
- Stay safe and de-escalate conflict during demonstrations
- Mobilize quickly and effectively
- Strengthen local capacity and support mutual aid networks
Those who complete all workshops will receive a Certificate of Completion. Lunch and refreshments are included. The full schedule is:
9:00 a.m. – Registration and Light Breakfast
9:30 a.m. – Welcome
10:00 a.m. – Non-Violence Peacekeeper Training Workshop
12:00 p.m. – Lunch
1:00 p.m. – Allies and Rapid Response Training Workshop
3:00 p.m. – Coffee Break
3:15 p.m. – Roundtable
4:45 p.m. – Closing Remarks
Who Can Attend
Registration is open to Arcadia University students, alumni, faculty, and staff. Participants from other universities and the local community are also welcome. The event is free for current Arcadia students, faculty, and staff; a registration fee of $30.00 applies for all other attendees.

Guests may park in Lot 9, located near the Spruance Art Gallery at Arcadia University, 450 S. Easton Rd., Glenside, PA 19038.
Signage will be posted on campus to guide you directly to this lot.
