Luke is a recent graduate of Arcadia, having received his Magna Cum Laude BA in Cultural Anthropology and Creative Writing just in the Spring of 2025. As an undergraduate, Luke was devoted to taking advantage of the study abroad programs here at Arcadia as much as possible. As such, and thanks to the globally-permissive focus of anthropology, Luke spent three full semesters abroad at Arcadia programs: Luke did FYSAE in London, UK his freshman year, spent a semester in Perugia, Italy his sophomore year, and finally travelled through Central America to Mexico, Guatemala, and Costa Rica as a part of one of Arcadia's intensive joint programs with Augsburg university. Returning to the Glenside campus for his Fall semesters, Luke found a passion in using his abroad experiences to give back and help others have the similarly life-changing experiences he had. Luke worked as a STAMP Executive his Junior year, providing 1-on-1 advising to students going abroad in the Spring while also overseeing the larger STAMP team, only stepping down to a more traditional STAMP role his senior year as academic commitments increased. Luke also worked as an Student Relations Alumni Ambassador his Junior and Senior years, furthering his commitment and connection to both current and past Arcadia communities.
Being fed up making smoothies and sandwiches all day, Luke desired something more meaningful in his day-to-day work after graduating. Returning to the Civic & Global Engagement house has allowed Luke to engage in the work he has been wanting, such as advising students to relieve the anxieties that come with being in college, as well as connecting students and himself with local volunteer and service-based organizations. As a Next Steps Team Leader, Luke will be overseeing the cohort of undergraduate Next Steps mentors, ensuring they meet their required service hours and helping them with anything that may come up between them and their mentees. Luke will also be in the office for help with passport applications, study abroad information, or nearly anything else in the department. Luke is familiar enough with the house to know that even if he can't get you an answer himself, he knows who you can talk to!
