Preview is a full semester course for first-year and new transfer students at Arcadia University. The 2-credit course is offered in the Spring semester and integrates a weeklong global field study over semester break as part of the curriculum.
Students who go on Preview return to challenge ideas and boundaries, pursue majors or classes they had not considered, develop an interest in foreign languages, or are hungry to explore study abroad experiences over a summer, semester or year through Arcadia University.
Arcadia pioneered the Preview course more than 20 years ago in 1994. The enormous success of this first-year program is due to the instructors who teach the courses, the staff who support the program, and the students who use the opportunity to learn through real-world experience.
Preview Fees and Costs
Because Arcadia University is deeply committed to Preview as part of its global mission, the University subsidizes the course to ensure that all students have a low-cost opportunity to engage in the world. Arcadia believes in the high-impact learning that happens with a global experience as part of a student's academic career.
The 2017 cost to students is $595, which covers airfare, housing, and programming. Students who enter the University as a member of the Honors program and are active at the time of application pay a $300 Preview fee.
You should plan to spend $50-$100 per day for personal expenses, including meals.
Preview is open to any full matriculated first-year students who enter the University in spring, summer or fall participate in Preview during the following spring semester, provided they enter with less than 32 credits, maintain a minimum 1.75 GPA and remain in good disciplinary standing. All new full-time transfer students who remain in good academic and disciplinary standing and are enrolled full-time at the time of departure can participate in Preview. Students who enter the University as a member of the Honors program and are active at the time of application do not pay the Preview fee.
