English Language Institute Conditional Admission

What does "Conditional Admission" mean?

This means that Arcadia University has decided that you are a good candidate for the school. However, you have not successfully met the admissions requirements for graduate or undergraduate study. For example, you did not receive high enough English language test scores. Therefore, you must first successfully fulfill the specific conditions in the Conditional Admissions Letter that you received from Enrollment Management. You are not fully admitted to Arcadia University until you have successfully fulfilled these conditions.

What are the English language conditions that I have to fulfill?

Option 1: Maintain steady academic progress through each level of the Intensive English program and successfully complete the English-Plus Bridge with an average grade of at least “B” and with no course grade less than a “C-”.

Option 2: Receive an average grade of “C” or higher and complete the iTEP exit exam at the end of the advanced level and earn the required scores for full admissions at the graduate or undergraduate level. See minimum score requirements in the table below.

Option 3: Take either the TOEFL iBT or the IELTS and submit the official score reports. Arcadia must receive official score reports at least 4 weeks before the start of the upcoming semester. See minimum score requirements in the table below.

NOTE: You can only repeat a level one more semester. If you do not meet these conditions, Enrollment Management will re-evaluate if you can continue at Arcadia.
