Student Involvement Checklist
With everything happening on campus, it’s easy to get lost in the excitement. Use this list as your guide to staying involved on campus. It’s a simple way to stay focused, explore what excites you, and see how far you’ve come. It can also remind you to try new things, meet new people, and keep saying yes to the experiences that make your Arcadia journey unforgettable.
First-Year Students
- Attend the Involvement Fair or other Welcome Week events
- Join at least one club and try attending three meetings
- Go to one event you normally wouldn’t (cultural, sports, arts, academic)
- Introduce yourself to the Student Engagement team or your RA
- Create a Handshake profile and explore campus jobs
- Explore identity-based or cultural organizations to learn more about the community
- Talk to a current student leader about opportunities
Sophomore Year
- Take on a committee role or small leadership position in a club
- Attend a leadership workshop or a career fair
- Volunteer for a service opportunity
- Apply for campus ambassador or peer mentor positions
- Attend events that align with your major or career goals
- Help plan part of a club event to gain event-planning experience
- Explore opportunities for study abroad, research, or internships
Junior Year
- Serve as a club officer or committee chair
- Mentor first- or second-year students through a campus program
- Apply for off-campus leadership opportunities (statewide or national programs)
- Represent your university at a competition, conference, or delegation
- Organize a campus-wide event with a club, program, or board
- Apply for leadership roles in Orientation, Residence Life, or Student Government
- Begin networking with alumni and community partners through events
Senior Year
- Train and mentor future student leaders in your club or organization
- Complete your capstone service or research project
- Apply for student leadership awards or recognition programs
- Attend networking nights and career readiness events
- Participate in Senior Week traditions
- Reflect on your involvement journey and update your resume and LinkedIn
