Campus Hazing Transparency & Biannual Report
December 2025 – January 2026
Under the new federal requirements established by the Stop Campus Hazing Act, (Pub. L. No. 118-173), signed into law on December 23, 2024, which amended the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, all colleges and universities are required to begin posting and maintaining public hazing incident transparency reports. These reports are intended to ensure accountability, raise awareness, and prevent future harm by providing clear documentation of hazing incidents on campus. This report is also published in accordance with Act 80 of 2018, the Timothy J. Piazza Anti-Hazing Law, 18 Pa.C.S. § 2809 et seq., which requires the University to maintain a report of all violations of the University’s Anti-Hazing Policy (or of Federal or State laws related to hazing) that are reported to the University. Although the Delaware Anti-Hazing Law, (Del. Code tit. 14, ch. 93) requires the University to maintain internal records of hazing violations at its Delaware location, it does not require public posting. Arcadia elects to include Delaware data in this transparency report to ensure consistency and comprehensive disclosure across all University locations. This report covers hazing incidents occurring within the United States at Arcadia’s Pennsylvania and Delaware locations. Overseas non-campus locations are not subject to federal or state hazing transparency reporting requirements.
For purposes of this Report, “violations” means those instances where a student(s), a Student Organization(s), or a person associated with a Student Organization was alleged to have violated the University’s Anti-Hazing Policy (or alleged to have violated Federal or State laws related to hazing and reported to the University). The University will update the Campus Hazing Transparency Report annually by December 23 and biannually on January 1 and August 1 of each year.
Pursuant to 28 Pa.C.S. § 2809(d), personal identifying information of students has not been included in this report.
For more information related to the University’s hazing policy, as required under 18 Pa.C.S. § 2808 can be found here: University Hazing Policy.
Annual statistics on hazing will be available in the University’s Annual Security and Fire Safety Report: AU Annual Security and Fire Safety Report. Please note that hazing statistics will be included beginning with the 2026 report (issued in 2027). Hazing statistics include incident reports that meet the federal definition of hazing in Section 485(f)(6)(A) of the Higher Education Act of 1965 (20 U.S.C 1092(f)(6)(A)). Such statistics do not reflect actual findings of hazing behavior, which are included in the Campus Hazing Transparency Report.
