Students will be able to indicate their preference for a Theme Community via their Housing Application. All students are able to express interest in these communities, and the communities are open to all students. Review Arcadia’s Theme Community options below.
Make that Change: Black Affinity Community
(For First-Year Students)
This identity-affirming residential community supports the academic, personal, and intellectual development of students of color at a historically private white institution. The community fosters connection, belonging, and support within the residential experience.
Celebrate LGBTQ+ Community
(For First-Year Students)
This affirming residential community supports LGBTQ+ students and allies in building connection, belonging, and a welcoming transition into college. The community is designed for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and questioning students, as well as allies.
From Self-Care to Community
(For First-Year Students)
This wellness-focused residential community supports students interested in prioritizing mental health, self-care, and overall well-being. Residents are encouraged to build healthy routines, seek balance, connect with campus resources, and participate in intentional programming that supports stress relief, anxiety management, and the transition to college.
Explore the Arts!

This residential community supports students interested in exploring creativity throughout their college experience. The community encourages artistic expression through visual art, music, theater, dance, writing, and other creative outlets.
STEM Studies Community

The community supports connection, collaboration, and engagement among students pursuing science, technology, engineering, and mathematics fields.

Sober Living

New for 26/27: This residential community provides an alcohol-free living environment, regardless of student age. The community supports students seeking a substance-free residential experience and fosters safety, belonging, and well-being within the campus community.
Quiet Living

New for 26/27: This residential community is designed for students who prefer a quieter living environment. Expanded quiet hours support residents in creating a calm, comfortable space where they can study, rest, and thrive within the residential community.
