In front of the Dining Hall, Physician Assistant students promote the Red Cross blood drive.
Arcadia University’s Physician Assistant students worked in cooperation with the American Red Cross to hold a two-day blood drive on campus in September. Thanks to the support of the campus community, they exceeded their goal of 80 donations, collecting a total of 124. The PA students look forward to continue working with the Red Cross to support this great need.
"We would like to thank all of the students and faculty for donating not only their blood but their time," says Brianna Clark, Secretary and Director of Outreach of the Student Association of American Academy of Physician Assistants, on behalf of the program.
Support Campus-wide Food Drive
In the same spirit of giving back to the community, the Physician Assistant program will run a campus-wide canned food drive from Thursday, Oct. 18, through Monday, Nov. 12, in conjunction with Arcadia's annual Empty Bowl Benefit Dinner. The drive will benefit Philabundance, an organization providing food to more than 65,000 people in the Delaware Valley. Drop-off bins will be located in the Castle, Commons, Knight Hall, Dining Hall and the main lobby of Oak Summit.
The following are considered high priority items: canned tuna, macaroni and cheese, canned pasta, canned beef stew, canned chili, creamy peanut butter, jelly, canned green beans, canned corn, canned fruit, breakfast cereal and hot cereal.
