Arcadia University’s Department of Athletics is proud to announce the hiring of Michael Hebenstreit as director of intramurals. Hebenstreit will oversee Arcadia’s intramural and recreation program, serve as an evening facility manager within the Kuch Center, coordinate student employment with the One-Stop Shop, and schedule student workers for all home athletic games. He was the graduate assistant for intramurals at Fairleigh Dickinson University.
“Mike is a great hire for Arcadia,” said Rob Nydick, associate director of athletics. “His previous experience at Fairleigh Dickinson coupled with his enthusiasm and knowledge are going to put us in a great position to serve the recreational and intramural needs of all of our students.”
While at FDU he managed the intramural program for the university. He also marketed all programs through fliers, email, and in-person socializing; scheduled all activities and programs after students were signed up, hired, and trained; and supervised student workers.
“I am excited to have the next step in my career path be at Arcadia University,” said Hebenstreit. “I am looking forward to be given the opportunity to help out with the athletic department directly, and also give every student at the University an opportunity to partake in many of the activities and programs that will be run.”
Hebenstreit is a graduate of Saint Joseph’s College in Maine where he earned a bachelor’s degree in sports management and minored in business administration. At FDU he earned his master’s degree in sports administration. Originally from Centreville, Mass., he relocated to New Jersey to complete his graduate studies.
