The Office of Institutional Diversity launches Black History Month with “An Evening with Jamar and Alan” on Wednesday, Feb. 4 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. in the Castle Rose and Mirror Rooms. Jamar Nicholas, award-winning cartoonist and assistant for the Arcadia University Art Gallery, and Alan Smith, adjunct professor of philosophy and religion and student in the Master of Arts in Humanities program, will display their artwork and speak on their journeys as artists, storytellers, and educators. Some of the artwork featured will include original pages of Nicholas’ comic book illustrations and chalk portraits from Smith’s “Peace People” series.
