Dr. Loury Examines Role of Higher Education in African American Communities

Dr. Doreen Loury, assistant professor of Sociology, Anthropology and Criminal Justice, is a panelist in the 46th annual Pennsylvania Black Conference on Higher Education, “Black Lives Matter: Critical Dialogue for the Greater Good Post Brown & Martin,” in Philadelphia on March 3.

The panel of three experts will lead a discussion of addressing the needs of African American men in higher education, and how it intersects with the Black Lives Matter movement. Loury specializes in African American studies, and is the director of the Pan African Studies program. The conference analyzes how institutions and local communities can support efforts of the movement.
