As the Board of Trustees moves forward in the search for the next President of Arcadia University, we would like to update you on our plan.
Currently, the Board is forming a Presidential Search Committee comprised of representatives from critical campus stakeholder groups: faculty, staff, students, alumni, administration, and trustees. We are also working on selecting a presidential search firm to facilitate this important process. An external firm will offer the University access to national and international networks in order to recruit the most qualified candidates for Arcadia.
The Board is committed to finding the best candidate for Arcadia’s future and hopes to install a new President on July 1. If we determine that additional time is needed, we will announce an interim leader to allow for a smooth and proper transition for the University.
Once a search firm is selected and the search committee announced, we will provide a more detailed timeline on the search process. The Board will collaborate with the University community to engage all campus stakeholders in a thoughtful dialogue throughout this process. Your contributions will be vital, as many of you have invested years and even decades of service to Arcadia, and you undoubtedly care deeply for the University’s core values, mission, legacy, and most importantly, our students. We believe this collaborative effort will facilitate transparency and, ultimately, lead to the appointment of a highly qualified leader as the next President of Arcadia University.
The Board is confident in President DeVille Christensen and her executive team continuing to lead the University. The Board is working in concert with her, the Provost, and the President’s Cabinet to ensure the stability of the University and to implement a successful transition of leadership.
