Arcadia University’s Visiting Writers Series returns for the Spring semester with a reading by Paul Lisicky on Friday, Feb. 24 at 7:30 p.m.
Lisicky will read from his The Narrow Door: A Memoir of Friendship, which was named as one of the best LGBTQ books of 2016 by The Miami Herald. The Narrow Door tells the tale of two long-term couples who strengthen their resilience in the face of searing loss and natural disasters, while offering proof that in accepting loss, we embrace life.
The author of five books, Lisicky has been featured in The New York Times, The Atlantic, BuzzFeed, Fence, The Offing, Ploughshares, Tin House, and many other magazines and anthologies. Last year, he was awarded the Guggenheim Foundation Fellowship, and he has previously received awards from the National Endowment for the Arts, the James Michener/Copernicus Society, and the Fine Arts Work Center in Provincetown.
The event is free and open to the public.
