Dr. Aroline Seibert Hanson, associate professor of Modern Languages, presented research on “The Dynamic State of the Brunca Language” at the joint meeting of the Society of the Study of the Indigenous Languages of the Americas and the Linguistic Society of America in Salt Lake City, Utah on Jan. 4.
Dr. Hanson was also present to vote on the Word of the Year at the American Dialect Society’s annual meeting on Jan 5. The winning word was “fake news.”
