Arcadia’s Office of Career Education (OCE) will host the annual Internship and Career Fair on Tuesday, February 20, and Wednesday, February 21, from 1 to 4 p.m. in Grey Towers Castle. The fair is open to any students and alumni interested in connecting with organizations from various industries to learn about internships and full-time opportunities while developing their networks and discovering opportunities for the future.

This year, the OCE is adopting a new approach to the event. Instead of one large gathering of all students, alumni, and recruiters in the Kuch Gymnasium like in prior years, the fair will be split into two smaller gatherings held in the castle, determined by students’ areas of study.

The first day is dedicated to the College of Arts and Sciences, School of Education, and Public Health. The second will be focused on the School of Global Business. “Our aim is to provide students with a more engaging atmosphere for both students and employers as they form connections and expand their networks,” said Janet Sheffer, associate director of employer engagement for the OCE.

Job and internship seekers will have the opportunity to meet with dozens of employers, as well as representatives from Arcadia’s Enrollment Management team who will be available to discuss graduate studies with students interested in pursuing further education after graduation.

The OCE has provided the following tips for students or alumni preparing for the fair:

  • Visit the photo booth at the fair for a professional headshot.
  • Dress to make a positive impression. Professional attire is encouraged but is not required.
  • Bring copies of your resume to give to organizations.
  • Have your resume reviewed by a Career Peer Mentor before the fair.
  • Research employers. Recruiters ask students how familiar they are with their organization.

Students can register for the fair here or by navigating to the events tab and selecting “Career Fairs at your school” in Handshake. However, registration is not required. To learn more about the organizations that will be in attendance, students can click “See more employers” on the left side of the registration page.
